It is not often one meets an individual who so perfectly exemplifies the disposition of an actor and a teacher. Jasen Salvatore is that individual and I am honored to recommend him as a candidate in your position.
I have known Sal since 2005 when we first met at the now defunct Sports Club of LA. Sal had been working on and off at this high scale fitness club for several years as he pursued his childhood dream to become a “paid” actor. There are quotes around “paid” as Jasen was put on this earth to be an actor and share his craft and skills with those he touches. Putting aside his work ethic and customer service at SCLA, Jasen constantly talked about his craft and love of acting. Where this writer loved Tom Cruise and his craft, Jasen references the likes of Marlon Brando, James Dean and the dedication and late bloomers like Harrison Ford. Jasen knows the business whether it be the endless rejections after headshots sent, doors closed on your face or the no call back after a great audition. He almost touched the sun whether it be landing a modeling gig in those first few months, cast as the body double for Ben Stiller or the heartbreak of that scene with Steve Carrol being cut out of Crazy, Stupid, Love. This is Hollywood and Jasen has lived Hollywood. Most put their tail between their legs and head back to Podunk, Nebraska telling stories of Los Angeles to their high school friends and family members. Most go back to accounting, sales or even teaching, but some stay because this is what they were born to do. Few know Hollywood takes passion, time and commitment, but few
I always hear that Hollywood is all about connections, and although true, every job is about connections. Hollywood is more about believing, dreaming and passion. The last ten to fifteen years as brought so many additional opportunities for those flocking to the Hollywood sign and Jasen still continues that desire to hone his craft and have faith in a business that supports craft and sharing of stories that without this medium would go unnoticed and unheard.
Professionally I wrote and co-produced a short and cast Jasen as a friend of the main character. I did this for two reasons. The first reason is because Jasen became a friend and mentor. He’s got a heart of gold and a wealth of knowledge. The second reason I cast Jasen was because of reason one and what he can offer those actors, directors and producers in that film. The presence of Jasen on set was reassuring and helpful. Although Jasen had a secondary role (based on the character of the lead) he made sure he was there over three days to support all and help with any of the details that needed additional care.
In both experiences, it was clear that Jasen is admired and respected by all. I could go on and on over his dedication to his craft and wealth of knowledge of the acting cycle. One thing I’ll leave you with is that Jasen will bring to the college a motivated learner seeking to make the most of every opportunity presented him. He will bring a delightful, playful, optimistic individual with a desire to improve not only himself but every institution which he enters. Both the university and the teaching profession will benefit from Jasen reaching his goal of becoming a professional educator. As an instructor, I look forward to the day when Jasen joins the ranks of the most wonderful profession.
Sincerely,

I am writing this reference at the request of Jason Salvatore Gulotta.
I have known Jason for the past fifteen years, ten of which we spent together in Hollywood, before I moved in my current position as the Program Coordinator for Film & Television at Pacific Union College. During the ten years we spent together, Jason and I worked on multiple film projects which I was involved as a writer and producer. The passion and energy that Jason brought to set, energized everyone that he worked with and he truly was a professional actor in every sense of the work. Jason is one of those individuals that was born to be an artist and has invested his life into the discipline.
Additionally, during our time together, we began an Artists Workshop that helped foster writers and actors in the area. This weekly workshop for 10-20 students gave me the opportunity to see Jason work with his peers, to help others grow in their skillset. During this time, I got to see Jason’s love for helping others, as he began to fine tune his teaching skills.
Sincerely,
Rajeev Sigamoney

To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Dennis Garcia and I am writing this letter on behalf of Mr.Jasen Salvatore Gulotta. I have known Jasen for over ten years and I have worked with him on a few projects within that time. Jasen has a prodigious knowledge of contemporary and classical theatre accompanied with an exceptional work ethic. He’s also an extraordinary teacher when it comes to coaching actors. I have been the recipient of his coaching and as result I have booked several roles because of his insight. Most notably a play entitled, “Always and Forever” which ran at the Ford Theatre and a national Budweiser commercial which was directed by critically acclaimed director Mark Pellington. Furthermore, I would also like to point out Jasen’s passion for the arts. As cliche as it may sound, Jasen is the epitome of a true artist. In an age when people from all over the world move to Hollywood to pursue fortune and fame; Jasen is certainly an exception to this norm. He has devoted himself to his craft and is constantly evolving as an artist.
Sincerely, Dennis Garcia.
To whom it may concern,
My name is Dennis Hill, and I have had the pleasure of being a working actor in Hollywood for the past 7 years. Gaining my start in this business on HBO's "The Wire", I knew that there were two things that I needed in order to excel in this business, and that was have strong determination and the right set of tools to help me along the way. Jasen Salvatore Gulotta was my acting coach, advisor, and mentor through my start in this business before he decided to settle down and start a family. I have known Sal for about 7 years now, and I can honestly say that you will not find another person more professional and passionate about their craft than he.
Sal and I started a program called The Artist Workshop in 2009. Partnering with the local church in Hollywood, Sal and I would devote several hours a week to coaching young, up-and-coming actors (along with other members of the community) on how to be present in their scenes and improve skills. This program was FREE of charge, and was intended to last just a few months to help struggling actors in our community. Based on the groundswell of initial responses we decided to volunteer more time, carrying the program out for over a year.
It is my pleasure to recommend Sal for any private coaching and teaching position/ directing and I would gladly work with him for future projects simply because of his drive, enthusiasm, attention to detail, and his ability to lead.
Besides developing plays to help minister to his local community, and his extensive knowledge of the history of Hollywood as well as Broadway theater, there is one specific example of his character that I would like to share.
I had one of the biggest auditions of my career for a recurring role on Cold Case's Season Finale that was projected to have about 12.5 million viewers for the show. I had no idea how I was going to prepare for such an audition, let alone book the role. After mentioning my situation to Sal, he invited me over right away and we got to work. After hours of rehearsal I wanted to throw in the towel and just see what happened on the day, but Sal told me that if this is something that I really wanted...I would have to sacrifice my time until my performance was perfect in his eyes, and when HE got too tired to move, he called a friend over to view my performance and give suggestions.
This is the type of person that will go the extra mile to make sure something is done right. Thanks to Sal, I booked the job (out of hundreds of submissions); he also did not charge me a dime for his coaching.
I believe it would be in any organization's best interest to add a dedicated and passionate leader to their team. That person in my opinion...is Jasen Salvatore Gulotta.
Yours Faithfully,
Dennis Hill
