In 2000, I embarked on a journey that would intertwine with my career and passions—photography. Without formal education in the field, I relied on my love for images to guide me. I devoured photography books, studied the works of legendary photographers, and captured moments that moved me. My fascination lies in both the grand irony of life and the subtle details, like the tilt of a hand. Photography gives me the ability to step aside and observe, capturing moments that would otherwise pass unnoticed.
Interestingly, photography has enriched my acting career. It encourages me to engage my senses from a distance—observing, listening. A photograph, much like a scene in a play or film, tells a story. When I first settled in Hollywood, I transformed my living space from walls adorned with rock and roll posters and Sports Illustrated swimsuit models to one filled with my own photographic creations. My camera became my paintbrush, allowing me to create art that resonated with my personal journey.
While my photographs haven't graced the pages of travel magazines or fashion campaigns, they narrate my story. The pride I feel in capturing these moments is immeasurable. Over the years, I've received encouragement to pursue photography more seriously. With the rise of social media platforms like Instagram and Tumblr, everyone seems to be a photographer or actor.
I'm still navigating my path as an actor, artist, director, writer, producer, and photographer. It's a journey, and the joy and growth lie in the exploration itself. Appreciate the works of photographers like Helmut Newton, Annie Leibovitz, Steven Meisel, and others. Their work inspires me, and I hope to continue learning and growing in my own creative endeavors.
In the end, photography and acting are intertwined in my life, each enriching the other as I continue on this artistic journey.
